Here are five things you need to know Wednesday, Oct. 16.
1. It will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be near 65.
2. The Barnstable School Committee will meet with Student Council Wednesday at 6 p.m., followed by the school committee's regular meeting at 7 p.m.
3. The young adult book club will meet at the Marstons Mills Library at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The club is for students over age 10.
4. The Hyannis Main Street Waterfront Historic District Commission will also meet Wednesday night at 6:30.
5. Volunteer to play with local homeless children. Visit wwww.horizonschildren.org for more information.
