Artist Paints Osterville, Barnstable Land Trust to Host Road Walk

A roundup of five things to know in Barnstable for Thursday, Aug. 1.

1. Artist Christine Frisbee, of New York City and Osterville, will hold her first public showing of her personal artwork at the Osterville Library on Thursday. Cape Cod served as an inspiration that encouraged Frisbee to show her art publicly on the Cape for the first time. Her collection of more than 15 landscape oil paintings will be showcased at the library from Aug. 1 through Aug. 30, with a public reception on Friday Aug. 9 from 7-9 p.m.

2. Be sure to join a road walk through eight acres of greenery and blooms in Armstrong Kelley Park, 675 Main St., on Thusrday at 10 a.m. Lead by Red Bansfield, Land Manager of Barnstable Land Trust, the walk will continue to BLT's East Bay Road Sanctuary on Parker Pond and learn about the current restoration and ongoing preservation efforts by volunteer stewards. Cost is $5 per person.  Register online at www.BLT.org or call Barnstable Land Trust at 508-771-2585 for more information.
