5 Things: Mooring Waiting List Lottery, Chess Club

5 Things is a daily snapshot roundup of information on events, happenings and other news in town.

1. Author Terri Arthur will discuss her book "Fatal Decision: Edith Cavell, World War I Nurse," at the Hyannis Public Library today at 6:30 p. m. This event is free and open to the public.

2. The Mooring Waiting List Lottery will be drawn this morning by the Harbor Master. Those selected have until 4 p.m. Friday, September 13, to submit the $10 waiting list fee.

3. The Mid Cape Cultural Council will meet tonight at 7. The meeting will be held in the GrowthMgmt Conference Room.

4. Do you like chess? Drop in at the Centerville Public Library between 1 and 7 p.m. to match wits with the members of the Mid-Cape Chess Club.

5. The Waterways Committee will also be in session tonight. The meeting, which starts at 7, will be held in the Selectmen's Conference Room.
