Events to be held on the grounds of the West
Barnstable Community Building, Whelden Memorial Library, West Barnstable Train Depot and Meetinghouse Farm.
Cape Cod Chapter, NRHS selling tickets for fundraiser to preserve the history of the railroad station and offering a home made quilt - Thomas the Train theme. Drawing held in December. $2.00 each or $5.00 for three tickets.
Narrated Scenic train rides departing West Barnstable Train Station two times - 9:25am and 12:25pm from the high level platform - special day discounted tickets $10.00 each for all ages. One hour and ten minute round trip from West Barnstable Depot up to the canal and return. Cash sales only.
Operation Lifesaver representative presenting a display and special handouts for all the children on safety on the railroad.
Live Steamers rides set up in the parking lot for all ages to enjoy.
Donations to Cape Cod Chapter, NRHS accepted. Historical Train station leased from the town, operated and maintained by the Chapter volunteers.
Visit us at the train station and take a scenic train ride with the family! Enjoy all the events of the day in the village!

The Cape Cod Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society
This nonprofit organization fosters and maintains the history of railroad transportation. The Cape Cod chapter was established in 1986 and operates the West Barnstable Train Station. Members participate in events, projects and local chapter meetings. A railroading network and opportunities to meet railroad historians and fellow aficionados is also available for members. The location has a museum that is open for people of all ages, May through October on Saturdays. Volunteers are always welcomed.
