When Harry met...Dina
Dina's, set to open in Hyannis' West End, is replacing the long standing Harry's Blues Bar.
Beautiful muted colors, white beadboard and stylish design details greet you as you walk into Dina’s, the newest addition to Hyannis’ chic West End by Sherman Square.
Much anticipation and buzz has surrounded the former Harry’s location, which was recently purchased by Dino Mitrokostas, of Dino’s Sports Bar in Mashpee.
Dino, a Barnstable native, grew up in Hyannis and participated in multiple family businesses in town. His family’s first restaurant, Hamburger Heaven located where Gringo's stands on Hyannis' Main Street opened in 1970.
In 1972, the family opened New England Pizza, which still stands proudly on West Main Street in Hyannis. In 1990, Dino moved to Mashpee and opened Dino’s Sports Bar. He initially won over the locals with his outstanding pizza, but Dino’s Sports Bar is now the sports bar on the Cape.
Jump forward 20 years and Dino is back in his hometown. He admitted when he moved to Mashpee, he vowed only to return to Hyannis if something very special came up - that special thing is Dina’s.
Dino’s goal for Dina's is to create the “ultimate women’s place.”
The restaurant has a female touch with its clean, crisp atmosphere and elegant accents. He feels he has mastered the ultimate men’s hangout in Mashpee and wants to expand his repertoire. Of course, all patrons are welcome, but the focus is to create an environment that women feel comfortable in.
The vision is to gather women after work to indulge in a martini, which seems destined to be the signature drink with martini lamps and images imprinted throughout the space.
Dino also showed off a projector in the front room set up to display images and programs on the back wall of the stage, but guys do not worry - he thinks this could be a venue for Sunday football viewing and more.
Dina’s will have a full entertainment schedule with nightly musical performances, comedians and entertainers. Beyond entertainment, two exciting features on the horizon are Dina’s Sunday Brunch and adding an outdoor dining patio.
The menu is varied and affordable. With an outstanding team in the kitchen, a beautiful selection of fresh salads, local seafood, sandwiches, entrees and pizza are available. Dino is working out the kinks and final details. He plans on hosting a Grand Opening before March. Stay Tuned!

How terrible. I live 100 yards away, and I already know I will never set foot in this place.

A Martini in a bar full of ladies, or a beer with the boys?
What was the question again?

From the pictures only, it looks like a good idea poorly executed. Warm cozy martini bar? Looks like a cold sterile diner. Those chairs look extremely uncomfortable. Going tonight though so maybe it will be better than in those pics!!

Word is it's geared toward a sapphic crowd. It will be interesting if it will succeed with such a narrow demographic, especially in Hyannis.

If they supply entertainment, like a live band, people will come. Anyone ever heard the local band 151? They have a single "Walk In the Park" that rocks!!!! I listen to it all the time........they are hott!!

I love to see what a guy thinks women like. Personally, I like beer... and warm, dark wood... and comfy chairs... and really good food that I didn't have to cook myself... and VEVO streaming on the tv's with a keyboard on the bar to choose different artists... and no kids. I like cozy and romantic... whether I'm with my hubby, or the girls. And sexy, young, male waiters who like to flirt. ;)

I agree - I prefer a good beer to a fruity martini. Whenever I go out to eat with my fiance he orders the strawberry margarita and I order a beer... the server always tries to give me the fruity drink.

What makes this a lesbian establishment. A tatooed 200 pound woman isn't necessarily gay, is she?
