Voicemail Leads to 1-Year Sentence

A Hyannis man violated a restraining order and was sentenced to 1 year at Barnstable House of Correction.

Police arrested Ian Baker on Sept. 10 for violation a restraining order after he lefta voicemail on the phone of an ex-girlfriend who took out a protective order against him, according to police.

Baker, 37, of 22 Keel Way, Hyannis was charged with violation of a protective order and sentenced to 1 year in the Barnstable House of Correction, according to court documents.

Baker told police he did not remember leaving the voicemail at 12:15 am.
