Looks like dogfish (sand shark) to my untrained eye.
The blob looks like the piece of a whale carcass, again emphasis on my untrained eye. Did the blob smell? Could be decaying blubber.
All lovely stuff!

The blob was about 8ft long and 3 ft wide. It was a whole specimen but in a very late stage of decay. Small whale or large seal?
