What would our lives be like without the unconditional love our pets give us?

Cats, dogs, gerbils, rabbits, fish, birds, horses, and pigs are just a few of the animals that we humans have adopted to live among us.

If you've taken a great picture of your pet, share it with Patch and your neighbors.

Let us know in the caption: the name of your pet, your name, what town you're from and any other information you think we should know.

Braintree editor Joseph Markman's dog Seamus, Hingham editor Tony Catinella's canine nephew Parker, Falmouth Guest Editor Conor Powers-Smith's dog buddy and Plymouth editor Casey Meserve's cats Guus, Black Jack and Penelope are not official entries, but we wanted to get the ball rolling with cute pet photos, plus the dogs (and cats) are amazing.

This is part of Patch’s summer Picture of the Week series, where we’re asking you for your best pictures on a certain topic each week.

We’ve added a little incentive. The winning submission will get a $75 gift card, plus bragging rights.

We’ll be taking photo submissions each week from 9 a.m. Tuesday through noon Friday. Voting will begin at 4 a.m. Saturday and end at 9 a.m. Monday, so make sure to check back over the weekend to vote for your favorite picture.

To upload your photo, just click on the "Upload Photos and Videos" button. If you have more questions, click here to check out our tutorial on uploading photos and videos to Patch.

For more information about the rules, please see the rules document attached to the article. If you have any questions, please email margaret.carroll-bergman@patch.com.

I accidentally submitted two photos and neither have a caption. Any way I can remove them?
