Two Arrested for Distributing Heroin

Barnstable police arrested two individuals for allegedly selling heroin out of a Hyannis home.

Following a two-month investigation Barnstable Police and the Barnstable Street Crimes Unit obtained a search warrant for 40 Spring St. in Hyannis. Police searched the home Thursday afternoon and arrested 30-year-old Carrie Turner and 24-year-old Justin Saunders. Police allege the pair sold heroin out of the home.

During the raid Saunders fled into a back room of the home, but was soon found by officers. Turner was arrested without incident.

According to a press release, police confiscated two small bags of heroin, suboxone, distribution paraphernalia, and about $730.

Saunders was charged with possession of a class A substance (heroin) with intent to distribute. Saunders has a lengthy criminal history that includes previous drug trafficking charges.

Turner was charged with possession of a class A substance (heroin) with intent to distribute, possession of a class B substance (suboxone). Turner is already facing charges related to another drug raid in the home in April 2012, when she was arrested for possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

Both suspects are being held at the Barnstable Police Facility and will be arraigned today in Barnstable District Court.

Ed:

see this Patch article and the comments made by me and others. I have tried to keep this alive, Jennifer even suggested she would follow up 4 months ago.

I think the drug dealers just steer the cops into a corner where the cops find nothing and no one, but have dealt away an opportunity to convict. Start jailing these dealers, make them pay 6 figure bonds, and deal with them after they have done their first year. It seems that no one up the ladder ever gets caught.

The Police do a great job in my view however repeat offenders get out so quickly it looks like they believe their actions are legal. Is the cause a lack of jail space?

The barnstable task force is a joke,if the public really knew what they do theyd be shocked but it all wilk get out sooner or later(false adfadavits, stealing money/drugs,planting drugs) this is exactly why 2 of the lead detectives are on leave and also the reason that they have a big lawsuit against them including 126 false adfadavits before you people comment find out thetruth..
