Since February 18, eight homes burglarized in Marstons Mills and police caught three people suspected of breaking into at least two homes.

Barnstable Police arrested three suspects in connection to a rash of break-ins in Marstons Mills - the latest was a theft of approximately $30,000 in jewelery and sterling silver from a home on Whitmar Road, a BPD press release said.

Police arrested Michael O'Brien, 32, of Marstons Mills for daytime breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony and Nicholas Costanza, 32, of Dorchester for receiving  stolen property more than $250 on Tuesday after watching the duo selling stolen property at Boston jewelery stores and electronic stores.

Detectives York and Daniel Turner began surveillance O'Brien early Tuesday morning and followed him to Dorchester where he picked up Costanza and headed to the downtown Boston area to sell the stolen property.

Police were tipped off when a retired Barnstable Police Officer saw O'Brien's, who is known for breaking and entering, vehicle being operated by female in the area of the Regency Drive break-in.

That tip, coupled with detectives Joseph Cairns and John York ability to locate most of the stolen property sold to Hyannis stores where O'Brien and Lacey were identified in selling the stolen property, aided in connecting them to the crimes.

O'Brien was arraigned in court Wednesday and Lacey will be arraigned on Thursday.
