Tell Us: Should Barnstable Get a Medical Marijuana Dispensary?
The Barnstable planning board voted to recommend a moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries in town.

The planning board voted unanimously to recommend the moratorium Monday night, according to the Cape Cod Times. The recommendation would block any dispensaries in town until 90 days after the state releases dispensary regulations or until 2014.
The Barnstable Town Council will vote on the recommendation after public hearings. The council is also considering limiting any future dispensaries to an area near Cape Cod Hospital.

NO!! Barnstable should not have one at all. We have enough problems in Hyannis already.

I don't object to a cautious approach in zoning, but the outrage surprises me. Marijuana is already pretty easy to obtain. A dispensary will just make it legal and hopefully cheaper for those who truly need it.
