Tell Us: Does McDonald's Calorie Announcement Change Your Mind?
McDonald's will post calorie information starting Monday.
Is ignorance bliss?
McDonald's restaurants in the U.S. will soon get a new menu addition: The number of calories in the chain's burgers and fries, according to the Huffington Post.
The world's biggest hamburger chain said Wednesday that it will post calorie information on restaurant and drive-thru menus nationwide starting Monday.
The move comes ahead of a regulation that could require major chains to post the information as early as next year.
"We want to voluntarily do this," said Jan Fields, president of McDonald's USA. "We believe it will help educate customers."
So we want to know: Will the calorie content postings change what you order? Will it make you more likely to stop at McDonalds? And, if you live in a town that is too good for McDonald's, do you stop the fast food restaurant when you are on the road?

Yes! It already has! I rarely eat McDonalds but when I crave it, it's to indulge. I stopped recently for a chocolate shake but changed my mind when I saw it was over 700 calories! I left with no purchase and frankly disappointed. I am not sure it will be good for business but it will be good for my waistline.

I usually indulge in a sausage McGriddle every Sunday morning but once i see the calories, I might have to rethink this habit. Time will tell.

By the comments so far, McD's is losing by 100%. I don't eat there, but it would be interesting to see ALL nutritional facts.....how's the sodium and fat content in that big Mac?

I stopped eating anything from McD's a long, long time ago! If you watch your weight and exercise regularly, fast food chains just don't even enter the picture!

Haven't seen the calorie count where I live but when the prices went up 20 percent this summer that was it for me.

Does it change my mind? You bet! About as much as "No Diving Shallow Water" It changed my mind the first time I figured I could exceed an entire day's calories with lunch at McD.

A little like telling someone whose head you are pointing a loaded weapon at how many bullets it contains. Calories are not the important thing here. Animal cholesterol causes cancer, also cause heart disease, diabetes and a whole host of other health problems.

You can stick your head in the sand or find out the facts...up to you entirely.

Oh ya! Thank you McD's for the added incentive to avoid you like the plague. Fast food is TOXIC. Go plant-based w http://www.drfuhrman.com. Avoid and reverse disease caused by the Standard American Diet (SAD). Micronutrients are the key to a long, healthy life. After all, our health is our greatest wealth!

Maybe they can take a page from Burger King's book. Sell packaged apple slices, which I can order instead of fries.
