'Teens for Jeans' Campaign to Aid Homeless Cape Teens

Local high schoolers are teaming up with a campaign to help the homeless on Cape Cod.

Cape Cod has a homeless population of approximately 1,000, with single mothers and children the fastest growing segment of the population, according to the Cape Cod Council of Churches.

In response, freshman students at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School have joined forces with clothing store Aéropostle and DoSomething.org for the 2012 Teens for Jeans campaign.

From now until Feb. 16, just drop off your good-quality used jeans at Cape Cod Tech or the Harwich Police Department and they will be donated to homeless teens across the Cape.

Aéropostle will reward you for your good deed by providing you with a coupon for 25% off a new pair of jeans at the store.

Cape Cod Tech students are involved through the school’s Community Service Learning program, a teaching and learning approach that integrates community service with academic and technical study to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities.
