Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect

Serious thunderstorms are moving east and may hit the Cape, specifically Barnstable.

 

The National Weather Service is tracking a storm moving at 25 mph east and dropping quarter size hail along with 80 mph winds. 

Barnstable county including the town of Barnstable is under a hazardous weather outlook and severe thunderstorm watch. Off Barnstable Harbor, loud thunder clouds can be heard moving along.

NOW: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
