Scalloping Boat Sinks Off Provincetown, One Presumed Dead
Twin Lights a well-known Provincetown scalloping boat sank Sunday morning. Rescuers saved one crew member; a second is still missing and presumed dead.
Provincetown-The U.S. Coast Guard responded to a call for help from the scalloping boat, Twin Lights, after it had become entangled in fishing gear just after 11:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Cape Cod Times.
Two Coast Guard vessels, state police divers along with a helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod searched for crewmembers. One crew member was rescued, but after hours of searching officials were unable to locate a second man.
Authorities have not released the names of either crew member.
