Police: Major Cocaine Traffickers Arrested
Members of the Yarmouth Police Department and Barnstable Police Department worked together to arrest two people on Tuesday.
A West Yarmouth man with an extensive record of drugs, weapons, and a wide variety of other violent crimes and a woman were arrested on Tuesday after police executed a search warrant and found a large amount of cash, crack cocaine and drug distribution paraphernalia.
Rodney Ferguson, 36, and Jacqueline R. Simpson, 29, of 4 Connemara Way in West Yarmouth were arrested for felony trafficking in cocaine and conspiracy to violate the Massachusetts drug laws.
Detective Christopher Kent and members of the Yarmouth and Barnstable Police Department Drug Units with assistance from the Barnstable-Yarmouth Street Crimes Unit executed a drug distribution search warrant.
During the search of Ferguson’s rental home around 6:45 pm, officers located Simpson and her 6-year-old son in the home along with the drugs, cash and paraphernalia.
At approximately the same time, Yarmouth Police K9 Patrol Officer Marc Thibeault and his partner Kobi conducted a vehicle stop of a Hyundai observed leaving the residence and arrested the operator, Ferguson, on an outstanding warrant for assault and battery.
Both were transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters and were arraigned in the Barnstable District Court this morning.
