Lou Colombo's Life Celebrated in Concert on Father's Day

A memorial service for the late Lou Colombo is planned for Father's Day at the Melody Tent with a walking procession from Colombo's on Main Street to the tent.

On Father's Day the life of Lou Colombo will be celebrated with a walking procession, memorial service and concert in honor of his life. 

The event starts at 2pm at Colombo's on Sunday, June 17. 

Anyone attending the memorial service should park at the Melody Tent (21 West Main St. Hyannis, MA). Main Street in Hyannis will be closed off to traffic and the surrounding lots will likely be full due to the annual Father's Day car show.

There will be a procession along Main St that will begin at Colombo's Cafe and Pastries (544 Main St. Hyannis, MA) at 2:00 pm.

The procession will be assembled as follows:

1. Grand Marshall ~ Cajun Bob Wilson

2. Memorial Band

3. Colombo Family

4. Second Line**

**The family invites anyone who wishes to walk the procession to please join the second line .

We will be walking from Colombo's Cafe and Pastries to the Melody Tent where the memorial ceremony will take place. Trolley service will be provided  free of charge to transport people between the Melody Tent and Colombo's Cafe from 1:30-2:30 pm.  

The Memorial Service Itinerary will be as Follows: 

1:30 - Doors open to the public at Melody Tent

1:30-2:30 - Trolley service runs between Melody Tent and Colombo's Cafe

2:00 - Procession musicians, family and friends gather at Colombo's Cafe

2:30 - Procession begins in front of Colombo's Cafe along Main St.

3:00 - Procession arrives at Melody Tent

3:10-3:15 - Service Begins/ Introduction by Dick Golden

3:20 - Blessing by Priest

3:30-3:40 - Video Presentation

3:45-4:15 - The Roadhouse Band (see list of performers below)

4:15 - 4:20 - Speaker Ron Della Chiesa

4:30-4:45 - Frank Zarba with Ray Cavicchio

4:50-4:55 - Speaker Lou Anne Colombo

5:00-5:15 - Lori Colombo and Jim Robitaille

5:15-5:20 - Speaker Sonny Colombo

5:25-5:50 - The Gray Sargent Band (see list of performers below)

5:50-6:00 - Jazz Jam with Invited Musicians

6:00 - Service will conclude

The memorial service and procession will take place as scheduled rain or shine. There is more information below that should answer any questions you may have.

All guests are asked to park at the Melody Tent, 21 West Main St. Hyannis

Please take into consideration the distance we will be walking
Seating at the Melody Tent is first come first serve. Seating can not be reserved.
There is no admission charge, but the family will be accepting donations to benefit local Jazz programs for students.

Mr Louis Colombo was a great man in so many ways.He was a Father,Trumpet player,A wonderful Man.I Call Dave his oldest son a friend For I was in the Colombo house many times& one thing you flet was the love.Mr Colombo played at my Wedding what a treat.I know my life was better for knowing Lou & The whole Colombo Family.I tell you the truth.you will weep and mourn while the World Rejoices.You will grieve,but your grief will turn to Joy.....I will miss you Mr Colombo may you Rest in Peace......Thomas J Moore

MR LOUIS COLOMBO was a great man in so many ways.as a Father, Trumpet player a wonderful Man.I call his oldest Son David a very good Friend for I was lucky to know Mr. Colombo personaly one thing about the Colombo Family there was alot of love in that House. Mr Colombo played at my Wedding Reception not many people can say that.So I feel Blessed for knowing The whole Colombo Family....I Tell you the truth.you will Weep and mourn while the whole world rejoices.You will grieve,but your grief will turn to Joy.....Mr Colombo may you Rest in Peace .....Thomas J Moore
