Kennedy Compound First Toured by Barnstable High School Students Yesterday
Barnstable High School students get first official tour of the Kennedy home donated to an institute named after the late U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.
In January, the Kennedy's main house in the compound originally owned by Joseph P. and Rose Kennedy in Hyannisport was donated to an institute named after the late U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Politico reported earlier this year.
This week the first class of Barnstable High School students were given a private tour by Ted Kennedy's son and former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy, The Cape Cod Times reported.
According to the Times report, Kennedy gave the students a full historical tour about the history made in each room of the home including John F. Kennedy's space where he formulated his winning presidential campaign.
The donation of the space will limit the Kennedy family's use of the property and they will have to make special requests. The Times reported the Kennedy's may enter into a rental agreement with the institute.

Hopefully the Kennedy Compound will be open for tours by the general public. I would love to visit the property, rather than just a "sail-by."
