The John F. Kennedy Jr. Community Service Award is given annually to a person who has demonstrated exemplary service to the Hyannis area community during the Chamber’s fiscal year. The award was created to honor the memory of John F. Kennedy Jr. whose passing deeply moved and affected the Cape Cod community and, specifically, the Hyannis area. It was deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors as the Chamber owns and operates the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum. Rose Kennedy frequently quoted St. Luke from the Bible, “To whom much is given, much is required.” Members of the HACC Board of Directors are not eligible for nomination.
This award recipient must be HACC Member in good standing. Choose at least ONE of the following qualifications and submit supporting details a. Example(s) of good business practices/stability; b. Examples(s) of innovation in products or services; c. Examples(s) of response to industry or business-related adversity; d. Sales/history/expansion/market increase; e. Management philosophy; f. Community involvement. Nominees will be judged on quality of nomination(s), not quantity; and The Business of the Year selections, based on the nominations received, will be made by the Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
This is an award given on a periodic basis to a business person in the community who leads or participates in a project that, over the course of the years, impacts the community in very quiet ways.
