What: Bikes On Ice Motorcycle Showcase

Why Go: Bikes On Ice will feature 80 custom, stock and antique motorcycles as well as vendors of all kinds! Examples include former NHL Player Brian Leetch's commemorative Harley Davidson that he received when he retired; a 1946 Harley Davidson owned by a local Native who has clocked more than 300,000 miles on several cross-country trips; and local artist Greg Vaughan's ink bike along with his unique style of artwork on helmets and more. A capella group Cape Harmony will perform from 10-11AM followed by other live entertainment. A motorcycle safety clinic will take place and over 30 raffle prizes will be given away thanks to local businesses. All proceeds will benefit the Hyannis Youth & Community Center and Cape Cod Child Development.

Where: Hyannis Main Street
Why Go: In addition to the car display, various crafters will exhibit both the day of the car show as well as the prior day, Saturday, June 16th on the Hyannis Village Green. There will be entertainment for the kids including a magician, balloons, cartoon artists, stilt walkers and a kids’ arts and crafts table.
More than 300 cars will line both sides of Main Street, Hyannis which, for the show, will become a pedestrian-only thoroughfare. In years past, the show has been a huge draw and this year Barnstable Police estimate that crowds could top 60,000. Such attendance would make this year’s show one of New England’s best-attended family events. The show is free to spectators and a great family day of fun.

Why Go: In 1845, William Sturgis of Barnstable was asked to give a lecture in Boston to explain “The Oregon Question.” The decision about where to place the border between the U.S. and British Canada out to the Pacific Ocean was being discussed in the press, debated in Congress, and negotiated at the highest levels of two governments. In this lecture, Dr. Mary Malloy of the Sea Education Association in Woods Hole, will introduce the role Sturgis played in this important episode of American History.
Cost: This talk is free, but registration is requested.
What: Father's Day Brunch and Concert and Gallery Show
When: Sunday at 12:30pm
Where: Cotuit Center for the Arts
Why Go: Renowned Israeli cellist Amit Peded and pianist Donal Enos will give a concert accompained by a light brunch-style food and beverages.
