Barnstable Home Sales Rise in March

Home sales in Barnstable are rising, despite declining markets in much of the state.

 

Barnstable’s single-family home sales rose in March, a contrast to much of the state where sales dropped significantly, according to The Warren Group.

Single-family home sales in Barnstable rose from 4 in March 2012 to 8 in March 2013. So far this year, Barnstable has seen 18 homes sold – compared to 11 in 2012, according to The Warren Group, which publishes Banker & Tradesman.

It isn't all good news for Barnstable, the single-family home median sale price decreased in March. While Massachusetts saw an 8 percent increase from March 2012, the median price of Barnstable’s 8 homes sold in March 2013 was a nearly 20 percent decrease from March 2012, according to Banker & Tradesman.
