Barnstable County Receives $2M+ for Road and Bridge Projects

Yesterday the State Senate announced the Chapter 90 funding for Barnstable.

The Legislature on Wednesday enacted legislation to provide $200 million in Chapter 90 funds to cities and towns across the Commonwealth and Barnstable received $2,023,558, Senate President Therese Murray (D-Plymouth) announced.

The Chapter 90 funds may be used for local projects such as rebuilding and repairing local roads and bridges.

“Keeping our roads and bridges in working order is essential for the health and safety of our residents and local economies,” Murray said. “These funds are another boost to the maintenance of municipal roads and bridges. It is vital that we give our cities and towns the resources they need to make necessary investments in infrastructure as they continue to support local businesses and create jobs.”
