Fifty-three percent is the approximate amount of the town's electric bill at the water pollution control building on Bearse's Way that will be paid by its renewable energy program.

The water pollution center has two wind turbines and 3,900 solar panels that will generate more than half the energy it consumes a year. It also will reduce its carbon footprint by eliminating 500 tons of greenhouse gasses a year. 

The town is waiting for Nstar and Verizon to finish connecting the plant.
