Did you know that approximately 50,000 children under the age of 6 will be homeless in MA this year alone? 
Horizons for Homeless Children partners with 27 family shelters in Southeastern, MA including Barnstable, to help children and their families.  They provide playrooms stocked with educationally and developmentally appropriate toys and materials.  They also recruit, train and manage volunteers to play with the children for 2 hours a week for a minimum commitment of 6 months.  The volunteers provide social connections, educational play and activities that lead to self-esteem and self-confidence.  While volunteers are with the children, the parents get a chance to look for housing, take classes and do what they need to get back on their feet.  Horizons for Homeless Children is very much in need of new volunteers.  Our next
