Open House and Public Meeting for Transit-Oriented Development Master Plan Study for the Hyannis Transportation Center Area
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) announced an open house and public meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 8, 2012, for the Transit-Oriented Development Master Plan Study for the Hyannis Transportation Center (HTC) area.
The open house will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM in the lobby of the HTC, 215 Iyannough Road, Hyannis. The public meeting will begin at 6 PM in the first floor conference room of the HTC.
The purpose of the open house and public meeting is to provide participants with an opportunity to learn about the Master Plan Study and ask questions of CCRTA staff and its engineering and planning consultant team. CCRTA is seeking public input to help it realize a vision for the HTC that has community support.
The HTC is adjacent to Main Street in Hyannis and near the waterfront. The CCRTA is working collaboratively with other stakeholders to create a development plan that emphasizes access to and connections between different types of transportation.
It will include recommended complementary uses to make the site a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week destination that enhances the quality of life of the community.
