  • December 5, 2011

The performing arts ensembles of Cape Cod Community College invite the public to, "Music For A Winter's Eve" on Saturday December 10th in the Grossman Commons Building Main Dining Room, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Concert goers will hear the College Chorus directed by Joseph Marchio, enjoy performances by the Middle Eastern Dance Class directed by Katrina Valenzuela, and hear the Jazz Combo directed by Jerry Skelley. General admission to the event will be by donation of non-perishable goods for local food pantries. Shown above is Choral Director Joe Marchio engaging the audience last year, before the group's next song.

Joseph Marchio's College Chorus will perform a mix of vocal music including "April Is in My Mistress' Face," "El Grillo," "Torches," and a Christmas medley. Marchio's program at the College continues to grow while at the same time he is in his second year as director of the Chatham Chorale.

The dance group will be dancing to traditional Egyptian music. And the Jazz Combo will perform a wide variety of tunes mixing seasonal music with traditional jazz and pop tunes including "Brick House," "Out of Nowhere," "Round Midnight."

The concert is being held in the Grossman cafeteria that will be set up theater style, making it a very comfortable place to enjoy the performers. The room's construction makes it a very "warm" place to enjoy music, especially vocal performance. The audience is sure to enjoy both the space and the performers.

The program is free of charge, but boxes for donations of non-perishable goods for local food panties will be placed near the entrance doors.

Individuals requiring aids or services to access this event may contact the O'Neill Center for Disability Services at the College, 1-508-362-2131 x 4533.
