Thank you everyone for helping to welcome the teams from Babson, Amherst, Salem State and Hobart for the Inaugural Cape Cod Lighthouse College Hockey Invitational Tournament that took place last weekend at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center.
I am attaching a photo of the winning team, Hobart College with the trophy they will take back to their school and display, along with links to the game stats and awards. Each of the teams brought players from as far away as Italy, Ontario, Alberta, Florida and other places around the country. There were many who had never been to Cape Cod and are sure to come back again after the warm welcome they received!
We look forward to the opportunity to see them come back again and hope to announce next year's field soon!
Special thanks to Patti Lloyd and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, the Days Inn and Donate Life America for facilitating accommodations and underwriting the event. Hobart College's efforts in providing t-shirts and prizes for raffle items that included game worn jerseys from each of the teams was an extraordinary way to enhance the experience for spectators who came from near and far to watch the teams play.
Ed Gallagher and his entire family was instrumental in pulling it all together and running a tight ship to create a tradition in the making.
Finally, a big thanks to our friends at the ECAC who brought the officials and game day staff to make it a smooth running event that all the players and coaches are sure to remember and to the Cape Cod Waves for graciously sharing the space to run the first ever tandem tournament at the HYCC.
Here are the links to game stats! Congratulations to Hobart College for their efforts!
