Heather Hughes has been promoted to Cape Cod Transportation Manager at Community Connections.

Hughes joined Community Connections two and a half years ago as a relief driver at our Mashpee program. Since then she has moved from driving a route, serving as Transportation Coordinator, serving as acting Transportation Manager, and now serving as the Cape Cod Transportation Manager. 

In this role she coordinates routes, monthly billing, and all vehicle maintenance, inspections and servicing. She is also responsible for overseeing driver hiring, screening, training, CPR and First Aid certifications.

“Since joining our team, Heather has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the people we serve, and has developed a great camaraderie with both her staff and clients. Her promotion is well deserved and will allow us to continue providing safe, reliable and accessible transportation,” said Kathy Ferreira, Community Connections Service Director.

Heather has transportation experience as a special needs school bus driver, and also ran a special needs Girl Scout Troop. She lives in Centerville with her husband, three children, two dogs and "a cat who thinks she's a dog."
