The Town of Barnstable and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce announced today that through a collaborative effort with top-ranked college hockey teams from Colgate University and The United States Military Academy-West Point, the Hyannis Youth & Community Center will again host the Cape Cod Collegiate Hockey Classic on Saturday, October 22, 2011. The puck drops at 7pm and tickets are now on sale at the HYCC Box Office and at the Colgate Athletic Office. General Admission Seating tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the game at the door for adults and $8 in advance and $10 the day of the game at the door for children under 12. Doors will open at 5:30pm. Colgate is now selling tickets through their Athletic Dept. office and patrons can contact them by calling 315-228-7600 or visit www.colgate.edu to download an order form. The HYCC Box Office Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-6:00pm and Saturday 12:00pm-6:00pm.

“After last year’s sell-out, we are excited to continue the tradition of bringing these two teams together for some fast and powerful Division I men’s hockey action,” said Tom Lynch, Assistant Town Manager. The Hyannis Youth & Community Center enjoyed its first ever sold-out event during last year’s Inaugural Cape Cod Collegiate Hockey Classic with 1758 tickets sold for both teams’ season opener.

“The impact the event had on last year’s Columbus Day Weekend for local business was significant,” said Patti Lloyd, Executive Vice President of Sales for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce. “We are all hopeful that moving the event off the busy holiday weekend will open up new opportunities for businesses to get involved in the event.”
