The Arc of Cape Cod is a proud participant in the first-ever All Aboard The Arc! event, scheduled to take place Sunday, April 10, 2011 when a caravan of buses with hundreds of supporters from across the state will head to downtown Worcester for a celebration of The Arc's mission of advocacy and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). 
 
This pledge-driven fundraising event, an adaptation of the walkathon concept, aims to draw the participation of more than 1,000 bus riders and is intended to raise $1 million to support a full range of programs vital to the well-being of 180,000 men, women and children living with I/DD in Massachusetts. 

"We have come a long way from the dark days when an intellectual or developmental disability could consign a person to a life of exclusion and isolation," said Leo V. Sarkissian, executive director of The Arc of Massachusetts. "Those pledging their support and joining the journey on April 10 will help us meet the needs of the disability community at a time when state and federal funds for people with I/DD may be in jeopardy."
